About the Quit India Movement

- Call to Action: At Gowalia Tank Maidan in Bombay, Mahatma Gandhi gave his "Do or Die" call, urging Indians to launch mass civil disobedience.
- British Response: The colonial government arrested Gandhi and the entire Congress Working Committee within hours, banning the Congress and triggering spontaneous, often leaderless, protests, strikes, and underground resistance across the country.
